End of Service for Windows 10 21H1

Windows 10 21H1 will be discontinued in three months, on December 13, 2022, as per a notice sent out to customers by Microsoft.

Microsoft announced the end of security updates for devices running Windows 10 21H1 (the May 2021 Update) in an article released on Wednesday.

In order to protect themselves from attacks that take advantage of unpatched security flaws, users of older versions of the product are urged to upgrade to the most recent version.

Users want to get the most out of their Windows 10 PC. Microsoft keeps tabs on your activity and suggests new features and settings. Windows’ ability to track your activity and provide tailored suggestions could reduce performance.

To speed up the process, instruct Windows to cease making Tips and Tricks recommendations. Start by selecting the Settings app, followed by System > Notifications & actions. In the Windows Notifications section, deselect the box labeled “Get tips, ideas, and suggestions while you use Windows.”

iOS 16 Updates

During its June 6 WWDC keynote, Apple detailed its major operating system updates for the year. iOS 16 has been in beta testing for months, and it has now been released by Apple (along with watchOS 9 and tvOS 16).

Many of iOS 16’s functions have received a few entertaining enhancements. For instance, the Lock Screen will be highly modifiable (in terms of color and font) and upgradable with widgets for monitoring the weather, your Activity rings, or whatever else you require quick access to.

You may be left wondering where iOS 16 is after visiting your iPhone’s Software Update page and finding only iOS 15.7 available for download. For iOS 16, there’s no need to initially install iOS 15.7; just look for the “Upgrade to iOS 16” option underneath the 15.7 details.

To get the latest iOS, follow these steps:

  1. Launch the Settings App.
  2. Select General.
  3. Choose Software Update.

Just follow the instructions to apply it.

How to Hide Documents on your PC

There are instances when we have sensitive files that we’d prefer to keep hidden from prying eyes. There is an uncomplicated method is effective and can be used in such a scenario.

Here’s how to hide documents:

  1. Right-click on the document
  2. Go to Properties
  3. Click the Hidden option and hit apply

Permanently Delete Files

Erasing something from a computer does not completely eliminate the information, but sends it to the recycling bin. This creates a problem, should you need to sell your machine. You don’t want your sensitive information leaking to the wrong person.

A simple shortcut can be used to avoid having files automatically sent to the trash can and stored there.

To permanently remove files from your computer, select them, hold Shift and Delete, and then click OK.

Apple Event in October

Apple is reportedly getting set to have an event in October. This time around, Apple is putting its attention squarely on its newest hardware and software releases: iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura.

9to5Mac reports that Apple is working on including the MagSafe connector into the iPad Pro 11 (with an LCD panel) and the iPad Pro 12.9 (with miniLED technology).

They also say battery improvements are another possibility. The new iPad Pro is expected to be the highlight during the October presentation, much like the iPhone 14 would do at the Apple September Event.

For now, it’s unclear when this upcoming Apple Event will happen.

Windows 11 22H2 Update

The most recent version of Windows 11, codenamed 22H2 or Windows 11 version 2022, is a small improvement over prior editions.

According to reports, Windows 10 is the most popular desktop operating system. When Windows 11 was introduced last year, some Windows 10 customers upgraded. Some did, but the great majority did not. However, many people did not upgrade to Windows 11 since it was insufficiently stable for their purposes.

Windows 11’s taskbar, for example, lacks key personalization tools included in Windows 10. Drag-and-drop functionality has been restored in Windows 11 version 22H2, and chat programs now have a separate mute button.

There isn’t much information about the new update’s features and functioning. Microsoft has not shown the final version of Windows 11 22H2 yet.

Thankfully, you won’t have to upgrade from Windows 10, as the operating system will be maintained until 2025.

Add Your Own Keyboard Shortcut

Simple tasks like accessing a web page may be accomplished with a single click of a button rather than by inputting a URL, browsing through directories, or selecting individual icons.

Keyboard shortcuts, or “hotkeys,” are combinations of keys that, when pushed simultaneously, perform a predetermined action. To create a shortcut, locate the file or directory you wish to link to, right-click on it, select “properties,” and then input a “shortcut key.”

Anytime you use the Ctrl+Alt shortcut, Windows will add it for you.

Multitask Using Task View

Having numerous virtual desktops might be very helpful if you only have access to a single monitor and are trying to do several tasks at once. In Windows 10, you can find this option in the Task View section.

The Windows 10’s Task View feature allows you to use numerous programs at once in a streamlined fashion. You can easily move between your open programs and organize your work over many “desktops”.

To get started, open the Task View window by clicking its “Tasks View” button. Then, click “New Desktop.” If you’ve got more than one virtual desktop open, you may move between them in the Task View pane by clicking on the desktop’s thumbnail.

It’s actually really easy and will help you multitask.

Apple Announces iPhone 14

Apple unveiled three new Apple Watch models, a redesigned AirPods Pro, and an improved Apple Fitness+ during their latest virtual presentation. The head honcho of the event, however, was the iPhone 14.

The new iPhone comes in a variety of colors to choose from. It also includes a 48-pixel camera to take the ultimate pictures and videos.
