To free up hard disk space on computers, users often refer to Windows 10 Disk Cleanup. This will remove any unnecessary files cluttering your hard drive and free up for future needed files.
Tuesday, Brandon LeBlanc from Windows Insiders announced that they will be removing the Download option from Disk Cleanup. He writes in a released statement, “Based on feedback, we’ve decided to remove the downloads folder from disk cleanup.”
The feedback responses included many users challenging the necessity of having the option to remove files from the Downloads folder. Too many of them accidentally selected it and ‘OK’ed the disk cleanup, only to find that there were indeed files in the folder that they needed.
There’s no word as to when this change will occur, but it’s speculated that the next patch will follow through for Disk Cleanup for Windows 10.
