For the sake of speed and convenience, Microsoft has made significant changes to the browser’s tab handling. According to Windows Latest, Microsoft has experimented with burying the “forward” button in an effort to reduce the number of buttons in the address bar in Canary Edge.
“For those unaware, Edge Canary is a raw and unfinished browser compared to the Stable, Beta and Dev versions. The experience in Canary is generally a bit bumpy compared to the stable version of the browser you’ve used earlier. Bugs and features could crop up anytime, and one of the new additions is the ability to close a tab with double tap.”

With a double tap, you may shut any tab within the Edge browser. This can occur on the desktop or tablet. You can enable this in the Settings app.
