In an effort to ward off phishing attacks and encourage users to use strong passwords, Microsoft released Defender SmartScreen.
The Windows 11 22H2 update, which Microsoft issued at the end of the previous month, included a new feature that should make it easier for users to keep their credentials secure.
When logging into an app or website in a Chromium-based browser, which is commonly used in phishing attempts, Windows 11 users will receive a warning from the newly introduced Microsoft Defender SmartScreen.
The functionality alerts the user to modify their credentials in order to secure their account if it detects that they have entered their information in an unsecured location.
